About
Cornerside Stables is a boutique hunter/jumper training program based in Paris and led by Michelle Shea. Built on a foundation of correct horsemanship, thoughtful training, and exceptional horse care, the program is dedicated to developing confident, balanced horses and riders at every stage of their journey.
Michelle grew up in Connecticut and began riding before she could walk. Her successful junior career included competing at nationally recognized shows along the East Coast, earning top placings in several junior equitation medals including New England Equitation Finals. She later moved to Kentucky, where she earned degrees in Business Management, Marketing, and Animal Science with a focus in equine nutrition from the University of Kentucky.
As a second-generation trainer with more than 25 years of experience in the horse industry, Michelle blends a lifelong foundation in horsemanship with formal education and extensive hands-on experience in training, teaching, and developing young horses. Her program emphasizes quality flatwork, classical equitation, and individualized instruction tailored to each horse and rider’s unique goals.
At Cornerside Stables, we believe great riding is built on feel, communication, and trust not force. Whether working with competitive riders, young prospects, or retired horses, our horse-first philosophy and commitment to strong fundamentals are designed to support long-term success both in and out of the ring.

Full care Hunter/jumper training focused on helping riders of all ages build strong fundamentals tools for developing confidence, with thoughtful progression. Focused on an individualized development for horse and rider to enjoy their journey in our industry.
Full Care Retirement Board
Give your horse the comfort, individualized care, and attention they deserve in their retirement. Our full-care program includes daily stall cleaning, customized feeding with premium hay and Triple Crown feed, carefully managed turnout, blanket changes, medication administration, and coordination for routine farrier and veterinary care, all in a safe, supportive environment designed for your horse to enjoy their golden years.
Young Horse Development & Consignment
Young Horse Development & Consignment offers a thoughtful, individualized approach to building confidence, rideability, and correct fundamentals. Each horse receives a customized training program based on age, experience, and long-term goals. Consignment horses also benefit from professional marketing, quality photos and videos, and experienced representation to connect them with the right buyers.
Therapy Services
Support your horse’s recovery, performance, and overall wellness with our professional therapy services. As a certified Magna Wave PEMF practitioner, Michelle Shea offers customized treatments using both Magna Wave PEMF technology and the TheraPlate. These non-invasive therapies can help improve circulation, reduce soreness and inflammation, promote relaxation, and aid in recovery.
